Colorado Historical Society: Ute Indian Museum
We were recently camping in Ridgway State Park with our oldest son and his family. On the way home we stopped to visit this wonderful small museum which celebrates the heritage and customs of the Ute Indian Nation. It has beautiful artifacts, informative videos and exhibits and a gallery featuring contemporary native American artists. Well worth a visit. Nora Burnett Abrams, the newly-appointed Associate Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver will discuss the influence that Moore has had on contemporary art. Moore‘s sculpture dominates 20th-century British art, but how have contemporary artists responded to this towering figure? Explore the work of Rachel Whiteread, Antony Gormley and Anish Kapoor.
