The Western Colorado Center for the Arts (affectionately known as “the Art Center”) in Grand Junction has as the October show the traditional Navajo Weavers coupled with contemporary fibers in the exhibit, Crocheted, Woven, Formed, & Stitched.  First Friday October 4th highlights Putting on the Arts fashion show featuring Mary Hertert’s garments along with Sally Converse-Doucette and Amy Kuper. The three artists will put their special garments on the catwalk and then take them off the catwalk to stroll among the guests of First Friday. Mary also has an entry in the contemporary art show entitled Clothed in the Colors of the Ancestors part of the Crocheted, Woven, Formed, & Stitched exhibit.
